These spots are the spirit of the city — unusually interesting and beautiful. If you stay for two or three days, be sure to visit them. Let’s begin.

Freedom Square
Freedom Square in Kharkiv is often called the largest square in Europe. Its area is almost twelve hectares. The city’s major universities stand here, so one visit shows you five or six landmarks that are part of Ukraine’s cultural heritage.
Vesnina Descent
If you want a romantic evening on a modest budget — a bottle of wine is enough — locals head to Vesnina Descent. Near the top you get a sweeping view of evening Kharkiv in city lights. For that skyline, few places compete.
Rugby stadium DYUSSH No.8
Not every resident has heard of it, but anyone near Kholodna Hora metro knows the spot. It is a strong alternative to Vesnina Descent, easier to reach, with an amphitheatre that fits a large group. Planning to watch the August meteor shower? The city and sky views here finish the search.
Paris restaurant
A quiet nook with soft music, French cuisine, a solid wine list and the best fondue in town. With 200–300 UAH you can still enjoy a proper romantic dinner for two. Many locals have been to “Paris” at least once.
Old Kharkiv Hostel
A welcoming place with a pleasant atmosphere. First time in Kharkiv? Stay here: warm beds, a kitchen, two showers with washrooms, a large TV and a spacious lounge with soft sofas.
